I spent a day alone with her driving around the Dallas Zoo many years ago. She was the guest speaker at the annual Zoological Society Meeting. We spent a long time in the Primate Area. She was so patient, watchful and soft spoken. Kind. Even interested in me.
What an incredible legacy she’s leaving behind. To be known around the world for being kind and altruistic is truly remarkable. This world is a better place because she was in it 💛
Nooo! 😥 one of my personal icons, her roots & shoots program made me into an environmentalist. Between her and Joanna Macys passing, this is turning out to be a sad time. I appreciate this simple post though.
She didn't like people . She may have hated them. She anthropomorphized animals and appeared to prefer them to human company. Although preserving nature and the environment are important for humanity's survival , she was in the end a misanthrope .

As an elder millenial who adored nature as a child, Jane was one of the first women I admired and respected from a young age. What a gift she was.
I know we cannot live forever yet. But I was not ready to not have Jane Goodall on this earth. What an amazing woman she was. She inspired me.
The icon of goodness. Thank you for all you did for animals and planet Earth, Dr. Goodall.
I’m saddest that she wasn’t with the chimpanzees she so loved and who loved her back.
